Godzilla (Part 1)

 

When I was young I was a huge fan of Godzilla, and I hoped one day to get to make my own Godzilla Story.   I would draw my  Godzilla but as time went  on I decided to make my own Godzilla. I had to be careful so it did not stray away from what made Godzilla unique. However I wanted to make my Godzilla standout from the rest of them at the same time. So this Godzilla or what I called “Draco-Gojira”,  has something that makes it different. First off it has horns, the Retractable Thagomizer (Aka Tail Spikes) and a kind of mohawk, which has individual armor plates.

 

Basically my Godzilla has more dinosaur and even dragon traits. The idea of the dragon came from a documentary  from Animal Plant called“It Came From Japan.”  In this documentary John Carpenter say                        

“His fins glowed and he breathes fire which was really cool so immediately he was sort of like a mythical creature like a fire-breathing dragon.” I based a bit of his design on an Asian dragon, like the horns and made his tail very long to make him a bit more serpent like in the body, a trait of an east n dragon. Now I am not saying Godzilla is a dragon, Heck he is not a dinosaur either. But my Godzilla is the creature that inspired the myth and legend of the  dragon, a creature that is very rare to the world, from a past that has not been historically recorded yet.

 

My other versions of Godzilla had more dinosaur and animals traits. Godzilla when he was first made was a mix of a T-Rex (Head & Feet), Iguanodon (Body, Arms, & Legs), & Stegosaurus (The Back Plates). I give him more Stegosaurus traits like tail Spikes (Aka Retractable Thagomizer). I even give him a mix of the Dracorex aka "dragon king of Hogwarts" Its head armor acts more like a battering ram. The individual armor plates were inspired by the Male Velociraptor from JP3 which had quills on the top of their heads. I thought this was cool to show Godzilla with  expressions.

 

There were other animals traits that I based his body from. His body is a mix of kangaroo and a crocodile. Not only that his body is also mix of other Godzillas.  This body is also based off a bit of Shin Godzilla aka “Shin Gojira” Even his skin is a base on Shin too, with the red scales resembling keloid scars, burned skin that came from atomic bomb survivors. However his skin is also a mix of the Marvel Superhero called A-Bomb. The color and his armor like body are from the original concept art of Godzilla from Godzilla: Final Wars Aka “Final Goji”. Finally his head is also based off two of my fav Godzillas- Godzilla from The Return of Godzilla aka “84 Goji” and Godzilla 2000 aka “MireGoji”

 

There is more to talk about this Godzilla, but I will talk about it later on. When I make another Godzilla pic about his powers and a paper I will make about the science  of how a monster like Godzilla could have been made.
